Training, what is it and where do I get it?    Follow the links for dates and times.

There are three levels of training:

  º Fast Start/Orientation
Fast Start Training OnLine - Fast Start provides new leaders an immeadiate comfort level
and helps give them the confidence to say: "I can do this!". Fast Start training is the first
step for any new volunteer and should be delivered immeadiately after a new leader registers
and before they meet with any youth members.

  º Basic Training
New Leader Essentials is an introductory session that highlights the values, aims, history,
       funding, and methods of Scouting.
Leader Specific Training - Once a new leader has a solid grasp of the BSA's value-base
program they may begin training for their specific Scouting position. This training provides the
specialized knowledge a volunteer needs to assume their role as a leader.
Youth Protection - The Boy Scouts of America has adopted a number of policies aimed at
eliminating opportunities for abuse within the Scouting program. These policies focus on
leadership selection and on placing barriers to abuse within the program. All leaders are
       encouraged to have this training.

  º Advanced Training
Wood Badge for the 21st century has become the core leadership skills training course for the
BSA. This course focuses on team building and leadership skills necessary to work with and
lead groups of youth and adults.
